Well, he wouldn't have been as great of a character if he didn't die. Part of what made him awesome was his back story and the fact that he died to let his friends live.

it seems kind of a waste to have his extra story stop where he died canonically. The game could've at least pulled a "what if" and continued the game with new dialouge, from a perspective that he survive.

When he was pulled away, he was refering to him dying, he meant that he got revived from Elraine who pulled him back to the world of the living.

no because on one of the scenes he said he was pulled away and in the end of tod2 he said he was going back to die in the water again

he wasn't really "teleported" though he was a sort of resurrected in ways wasn't he.
