Histakshitl Ts'awaatskwii is an hour-long documentary film that follows the re-making of a small thliitsapilthim (Nuu-chah-nulth ceremonial curtain) that highlights the history of a noble woman called Asmanahey (Great Precious One). The chronicling of this process is set against the backdrop of numerous Nuu-chah-nulth people speaking about their feelings regarding thliitsapilthim. The title of film may be translated as, "we come from one root," which intimates how thliitsapilthim depict connections within and between families, and to territories, resources, histories, specific places, and rights.
