Never Imagine Myself In This Zoo

Ok, yet ANOTHER montage set to All These Things That I've Done (the entire track even - 4+ minutes!). The good news? This one is really, really good, and in example of smart editing on an opening - nice job, Shepherd! Will this track ever be overplayed? Probably, but it's good enough that so far it hasn't yet overstayed its welcome.

Key rules to editing?
1 - Follow the music's pace intimately, and repeat things only when there are repetitive parts to the music. Match the dynamic shots and fast cuts with appropriate sections.

2 - Tie things together during the chorus/refrains, and change the pace up during the bridge.

3 - Don't start the talking heads right away.

4 - Talking head voiceovers can be split between the actual talking head sequences and the montage shots to speed up the cuts and keep it moving.

5 - Anything with a Bosun's Whistle is gold with any Navy topic.

6 - DO NOT INTERPRET THE LYRICS LITERALLY.

Also, had to clean up the garbage version PBS uploaded. For shame. Here it is in high quality. Now go watch the whole thing on their website (http://www.pbs.org/weta/carrier), catch it on TV, or buy the DVDs.

I have to say, allthough I don't like a lot of things going on in the USA the last 10 years and I don't agree with a lot of political decisions taken by the US Government over the last years, you can't feel anything but great admiration and gratitude towards your servicemen for their dedication and their sacrifices. Please USA, heal quickly and become once again the country that stands for justice and equal oportunities that the world can look up to. This is one of the best documentarys I know.
