1997 - Le Mans - Soheil Ayari and McLaren F1 GTR accidents

At 9,28am, the Team ORECA Chrysler Viper GTS-R driven by Soheil Ayari goes off heavily at Karting Nord and sustains a lot of rear damage.

Then fuel was split and it caught fire. The marshals tried to fight the fire in vain but the the fire engulfs the Viper and it causes much more damage.

Two minutes later, the Team Lark McLaren F1 GTR (driven by Akihiko Nakaya, Keiichi Tsuchiya and Gary Ayles)goes off at the exit of Tetre Rouge and crashes into the Armco. (I assuming it is Gary Ayles that crashed the car)

The car was too badly damaged to continue after 88 laps.
