Steve Ballmer dodges eggs at Hungarian University

In March the Hungarian government made a contract with Microsoft, about licensing their software for university students and public servants (cca. 500000 ppl). The contract will last till March 2009, so only one year, and it costs (25000 Million FT = 147M $) from the taxpayers money. (just calculate: 147M/500k = 300$/man for a 1 year microsoft license, LOL :D)
The competitors of Microsoft hadn't had a chance, so they went to court.
Today, Ballmer came, and the court put the trial off, which is clearly illegal according to hungarian law.
And to make it more irritating, Ballmer today made another 10000 Million Ft contract with the government, for theaching Microsoft software :D
Well I bet, a bunch of this money landed in the ins and outs packet.

Your description isn't very clear. What software was licensed? I know of software that cost thousands of dollars per year. Even if the software is only Office, it isn't a bad deal, since many of the people who will use it aren't students, and will use the software as professionals. It seems to me that the egg thrower isn't too Computer Savoy, or he should know this.

The thrower made a ridiculous thing that proves absolutely nothing. Either he was paid to do that, or he's just lacking intelligence.

Balmer, on the other hand, should have expected something like that on presentations during his lifetime and should have been prepared. But instead, he hid himself like a chicken. Really mature speaker would just make fun out of a thrower without getting nervous or scared. I know of excellent examples.

The pathetic thing is that you think this is amusing. Charging people 300$ per license is like charging an American ten thousand dollars to use windows every year...now think if you wouldn't throw an egg. People simply can not afford to pay microsoft a big part of their salary just to use windows.

You know, this is amusing, but I cant stand the way people decide to protest. Throwing eggs is going to make your points taken any more seriously? What a total idiot. There's alot of things most of us don't like, but we're not about to start taking up protest by throwing eggs, shoes, or firing guns. Pathetic.
