I think this was the 3rd song of the 1st set, the 1st night-- missed 1/2 0f this-- police outside chasing us with horses : ) All 3 nights magical, 66 different songs other than drums/space

the dunderheads here debating the finer points of flies on shit are totally missing the rapturous response of the crowd.. that's what it's all about man and what I miss so much.. Thank you, Jerry. There is nowhere to feel that energy anymore. Furthur is awesome but still falls short of the religious experience a Dead show could be.

Most of you are missing the point ~ the Dead DIDN'T know how to play this song. It was totally spontaneous, they just went with it as if they were in the basement. Quite a thing for a band of their stature to do. It was pure magic, I tell ya. Find the tapes of the rest of the songs they (really) played, and you'll see what an ON night this was. The spontaneous fun here simply reflects that.
