This is wonderful. Made my day. No, my night.

Jan started the minimoog phenomenon!!!!! Then George duke, Tom coster, chick corea. Etc followed jans lead. He brought that loop the output back in the minimoog for that extra kick overdrive. Jan is the king of minimoogs and r.I.p. Bob moog!!

This style inspired Todd Rundgrens Utopia, Todd even bought the same Gibson guitar, I saw him play it live. I do like the sound of the ring modulator on Rhodes, I get that effect from a boss distortion device that has eq, its easy to get the overload sound. Wish I had the talent.

I like him even better on organ. He's definitely a great keyboard player. It's too bad he went "fuzak" in the 80's. Thanks for posting this so we can see just how great these guys were.

defnitly! thanks for this video
I believe Cobham is using brushes on this tune and he's still nailing the skins hard. Jan Hammer's solo and his use of the Ring Modulator makes this Rhodes almost sound like a synth at times. What chops and creativity. Jan is still (along w/George Duke) the greatest Moog and synth players of all time to this day.
