This song was written in celebration of the Hudson 70 Expedition, the first time a ship ever circumnavigated the Americas. I have sailed on the Coast Guard Ship Hudson several times and was inspired to write this song during a storm at sea, all the while feeling very comfortable in spite of high winds and magnificent waves. On November 17, 2009, the original scientists and crew were honoured at an event held at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. At that time, this song was sung live by co-worker Patrick Potter on guitar, while the video (of my creation) played in the background. The song and video have been merged to create a music video on DVD, which can be obtained (with a donation of $10 or more as part of a charitable fundraiser) by contacting Nelly Koziel ( Nelly.Koziel@NRCan-RNCan.gc.ca) . All proceeds to go to the Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank, Halifax, Nova Scotia. (The DVD has better sound and video) OR, if you like this, please send a donation to the Parker St food bank (Maynard St. Halifax) with the note: In appreciation of the Hudson Video. Thank you!
**APOLOGIES to Dan Nickle who I have listed in the credits as David Nicholl. Very sorry :-(
