Continuing on with my fascination for 1970s children's tv themes, this is the intro part that was played for the great tales of Hammy and runs on with the Catweazle motif. Any influence on Weller ? Thematically, I suppose Catweazle does envoke Picking up Sticks, and Tales was certainly used to great effect on the B side of Absolute beginners
LOVE it! :)~ thanks for posting!!

One day Hammy was wandering about the riverbank when he happened upon an unkempt creature.
"Hello, who are you?" he asked.
"Gadzooks," replied the wild-eyed man, "a talking hamster! What witchery is this? I am Catweazle, maker of spells and seer of visons."
"And what can you see?" asked Hammy.
"One day, many years hence someone will write a spoof conversation between us as a reply to excellently played renditions of our theme tunes on youtube."
"Youtube?" said Hammy. "Never heard of it."

Excellent stuff! I always thought that the pinnacle of a guitarist's rep should be Tales from the Riverbank. It must have been listening to all those pot-head hippies playing around campfires when I was a kid in the 60's. I'm going to study this video carefully and realise my dream!
