I'm not Thai so I'm not sure what Napporn was giving the people in his way..that white paper or something...anyone know what was happening.?

It's the Thai traditional wedding. While the groom's parade is approaching the bride's residence, it will meet the barriers or "gates" (Pratu). In fact, they're the tollgates (maybe a length of silk or rope), stretching across the path of the procession by pairs of boys and girls (relatives young and senior, or friends). There will be Pratu Chai (Victory Gate), Pratu Ngern (Money Gate) and Pratu Thong (Golden Gate), and the groom's party have to "pay" in cash, or small souvenir, to pass through.
