Because they don't know shit. This airplane would probably fall at a 45 degree slope. The blades dont seem as if the would continue spinning, definitely if it is a gas powered setup. Even so this craft would not glide due to the massive drag or a huge airfoil and the out of wack center of gravity once the engine stops.

how efficient is this? better than "standard" prop? yes, and what about that engine cut? I think that drag would kill most of forward speed, what could result in poor lateral stability, and wind could trip the plane over... or not? teach me.

nice work Ive thought about doing something like that - there are old kite designs that use this principle too. it flys so well-almost hovers - now u make dihedral or helicopter - I am certain
