Another stunning interpretation by Jane Parker-Smith. This piece has become quite popular lately, but no one plays it like she does.
The organ was built in 1998 by the Goll Orgelbau in Luzern, Switzerland.
This recording comes from a CD titled: Romantic and Virtuoso Works for Organ, volume 1: Jane Parker-Smith at The Goll Organ of St. Martin Memmingen. Published by AVIE Records.

Love this toccata and love this JP-S interpretation. Can't think why I only discovered this for first time 6m ago.

@originaltommy - I can't think of an American organ like this! Maybe a very late Aeolian-Skinner or a Fisk. It's definitely a European (Franco-German) sound. Nice organ: sounds like a more refined, better-balanced version of the Gloucester Cathedral organ to me, perhaps a hint of Lewis or Willis III (it does remind me of Southwark and Westminster Cathedrals too). Stunning playing from the lovely JPS, as ever. I like the piece - good for weddings. Vierne's B-flat toccata rules over all, though.

Jane's wonderful. She's a friend of my teacher and mentor Mervyn Games. I think they went to school together (along with Sheena Easton, yes!). Lovely performance, but I have to admit that on first hearing, I'd think this was an American instrument of some persuasion. At any rate, yes, best reading of this work on YouTube thus far, although I can't say I'm really looking for many of this particular work. It's not THAT great....

I have been a fan of pipe organ music for over 40 years. I first heard this Toccata on Radio 3's Choral Evensong in April 2010 and was completely bowled over by it. I can't understand why it took me so long to discover it but I'm just grateful that I did - it is even more spectacular having been 'hidden' from view for decades. Mind the porclain on your mantelpieces if you play your hi-fi's loudly - as I'm sure you will!
