2:20 'Skip It'... Oh the irony...

One of my video "customers" is due in court on 20th January, not for jumping a red light, but for failing to identify the driver of his vehicle.

16% rubbish that's pc crap go to any set of lights at any major junction and it's only 16% of cyclists that don't jump red lights

@WoodymanTHEJ What's with the shaking? Why do you need a knee jerk reaction when seeing someone else break the law?
-
@skirmantas85 Shaking of the head? Would you rather The Finger?

16% do not stop at Reds? yet all cyclist get tarred with the 'red light jumper' brush? shit man that makes me mad.

@roadbikevalour They're not police officers, they're PCSO's. They have about the same policing rights as a postman.

Report the cars but not the motorcyclists man!

@BasemapVids - protecting the vulnerable requires rational planning and the numbers say it all - 39,000 killed or seriously injured, over 800 killed compared to 3 by bicycle. As the stats run well over half these are at fault. The suggestion of number plates for cyclists is nearly as ridiculous as the anecdotal reference to justify it.

@BasemapVids To be picked up by ANPR camera systems the plate on a cycle would have to match that of a motorcycle. This is impractical. A smaller plate means drivers might perceive a transgression and drive too close to attempt to view it.
How many pedestrians have been hit and killed? 1 a year. Every 3 years 1 on a pavement by the stats.
Most red lights do not have ANPR or camera systems, hence why so many motorists shoot through when it goes amber or red.

@BasemapVids In Bournemouth there have been two major hit and runs, one where the guy was left for dead on the roundabout he'd been navigating. Both happened just before christmas. Both drivers havent been caught and both involved cyclists.
You're right, its not about us and them, but there is a massive problem formulating and the statistics show its not the cyclists (or the pedestrians) in the main causing it.
@CycleGaz I'm not saying it's a solution, but people need to lose the "us and them" mentality, everyone needs to use the road, the most vulnerable are cyclists and pedestrians. I think if a car knocks someone down then there is insurance, number plates etc that allow a prosecution to be made. A friend of mine got hit by a cyclist running a red light, who then rode off leaving this person in a pile on the floor, how is this right? We need to plan our roads better to protect the vulnerable.

@BasemapVids If the car drives away and it's dark and you don't get the numberplate, then you are in exactly the same boat...

My main issue, a car runs a red light - has a number plate can be prosecuted. A cyclist - no way of identifying easily - prosecution 100x harder. A pedestrian can still be hit and killed by a cyclist.

@BasemapVids You really think that a numberplate makes it easy to identify the driver or get anything done. I don't think so.
With the amount of stolen bicycles on the road, your 'plan' has quite a few holes.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I find the 'shaking of the head' every time you see someone break the law a very self-righteous gesture for some reason. I am 100% sure that on every single commute you undertake you break at least one law be it just not knowing what it is, forgetfullness, not paying attention or a spur of the moment. When you can truthfully say that you haven't broken any laws then you can start throwing stones at the sinners.

@skirmantas85 I can truly say that I haven't broken any laws, so can I throw stones at them now?
It would be pretty stupid of me to be filming and breaking the law, i'd basically be setting my self up.
