@OnBetamax have fun with all the noise and graininess in your crappy photo's.
always shoot at ISO 100.

low light and no tripod, then high iso! as the camera will need more time of exposure to take a lightly shot.
Sunny day, then the less exposure, so less iso..

well, he said that you should use ISO100 and only go higher when needed, that is when you're out of light.
I use 100 almost all the time on my eos500d, but in autoiso when shooting snapshots, and then manually set the iso if I got time

This tells HOW to change iso, but it doesn't really discuss WHEN and WHY you would choose one setting vs. another.
