For some reason Nick Robertson did very well at not selling records. Even today you can pick up his excellent 'Bullet Proof Boy' album for next to nothing through Amazon. It's definitely worth it, especially if you're a fan of Irish singer songwriters in the same vein as Van Morrison. The lovely 'Pride and Joy' features Maria McKee on backing vocals and is a typically well-written heartfelt Nick Robertson tune. My advice? Get on Amazon now and make that purchase!

  • I loved loved loved this CD from start to finish it was wonderful!

  • Very, VERY talented artist, such a shame he didn't get the breaks he deserved. Still remember listening to him practising in his bedroom when i was a kid living next door. Remember me Nick? Ricky.

  • How wonderful to find this online, and to see comments from Nick's relatives too. What a delightful album "Bullet Proof Boy" was - really deserved (and deserves) to be much more widely known than it is.

  • Me and a few of my friends are a big fan from Pazin,Croatia since from 90'...and also Van's, Bap and Brian big fan. Thanks for wonderfull music Nick

  • Hi Lola, I was there when he wrote some of those songs. I've still got the early demos we recorded.

  • This is one of the best albums of all time. I saw your dad in The Fixx in Glasgow in 1990 and you could see he had such talent and presence. It was one of the first CD's I bought (because everything was on vinyl before!). I still have it and was playing it this morning. Would be great if he is able to put some stuff on youtube. So nice to find this - sound like Day-V Lately! :-)

  • hi lola megan

any news on when you'll be uploading the video for "show me a sign". my wife still doesn't believe i'm actually in the video ... i need proof :)!

  • @elisabethrosello Heya , yes i will shortly be putting the vid up on youtube soon, hope this could help!

  • Hi guys , for all interested nick my dad is going to put songs on youtube of all his three albums and a music vid from his first album ! There are very few copies of his first album so i suggest that you could convert the youtube files to and mp3 via 'convert youtube to mp3' its very straight forward. hope this could help, Lola.

  • @LolaMeganRobertson ...listening to this brings back memories from childhood, of listening to Nicky practice in his bedroom as we played in the street out front. Tell your Dad I said Hi, if he remembers me...if he doesn't...my Mum Carol used to clean for him when he was recording this album, before he moved to London and i used to babysit for your your Auntie Helen and Uncle Stevie ;)

  • i had this album. bought it after seeing him support runrig at the caird hall in dundee in the early 90's. lost the disc and never heard it for years till now. thanks for putting it on.
