Update: Angel's baby is born and healthy, praise God! His name is Nathanael. Glory to Christ, our "Yah is Salvation."

Hello! This video is my interpretation (in American Sign Language) of a song performed by Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute. I am a student of American Sign Language, lovingly taught by many dear Deaf friends and teachers. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for their gifts to me, and I pray that some day, my signing will make them as proud of me as I am grateful to them.

The video contains the audio is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-UAOn0b3uw

I also link to the following pages in the subtitles of this film:

This video is made in celebration of the birth of my dear friend Angel's newest son. Praise the Lord for His mighty works!

  • :-) Thank you both! God bless you.

  • Try it on after each major cut. Once it looks right, you might zig-zag or serge the edges and then sew a hem all the way around (but sew the tab together instead). Adjust as necessary for the next one (that's why I recommend one in a cheap fabric). I hope that helps!

I forgot to say that there should be like a tab for the head measurement. You can also add about 2-3 inches to the length of the headband part (including the tab) if you want a headband like this one has (I prefer it plain).

  • If you measure around your head and then on a folded cloth measure out half of that measurement, plus 1/4 inch (maybe more the first time you try one out on muslin or cheap cloth), then measure how long you want it plus 1/4 inch, you have the basic pattern. It takes some finesse to get the curve right, but without the template you could start with a gentle curve from the innermost folded part out to about 5 inches onto the open side, with most of the curve in the last third.

  • nice signing, i have been thinking of learning ASL. and i like your head covering, may i ask where you got it? and how many inches it is from the top to the bottom? i tried making 1, and it didnt turn out so good, i prefer the long coverings, the longer the better, i had no pattern to try make 1.

  • @muslimia99 ASL is completely a gift from God. I love it and I love working among Deaf people. They are a beautiful people with a beautiful language who need to know the beautiful Savior :-)

christiancoverings com. It's 18 inches from the brim to the end, and hits my collar in the back. I like mine long, too.

They're fairly easy to make, although I normally just lie mine out and trace it. (ctd next post)

  • Ah, Sarah, what a wonderful surpise to visit Youtube searching Modest Dress and stumbling onto this video of you. (I visited the Sac.BibleChurch which you belong) and I was very blessed by this message. God Keep You and Bless you Life to His Glory. (hugs)

  • @Momwithahook :-) Thanks! May the Lord's hand be upon you as well!
