by Claus-Dieter Schulz (Germany)
A documentary style machinima filmed in 'Liberty City' the playground of the game GTA4. It gives a unique view of that city that never sleeps in a way you maybe never experienced before.
Filmed entirely with the Xbox360 version of the computer game GTAIV.
Winner Best Music Video at OMFF 2009
Jury Finalist at Machinima Expo 2008

Tnx so much for pointing me to that. I'm sorry I didn't spot that typo earlier. I cannot change that version here, but I'll add a comment on the original version.

Sorry, I hadn't noticed since I had watched an earlier version.
You misspelled the name though: it should say Godfrey Reggio, not _G_eggio.

Tnx for the suggestion. Koyaanisquatsi is in the credits (5:07)

A suggestion: There's a shot of a taxiing Boeing 747 making a full circle of the runway. This kind of destroys the illusion of a real world, because no taxiing plane would do that, it instantly gives you the impression that you are looking at a windup toy.
I'd cut the sequence so that the plane only taxies half-way.
Great video, fantastic work recreating the Grid sequence. You should give credit to Koyaanisquatsi in the credits though.

Right, the film is 'Koyaanisqatsi' by director Godfrey Reggio. I added a reference to it in the credit section at the end of the movie. Coying the concept of this film to the world of GTA4 was a challenge. Great to see people get interested now in the original film and music as well. Which is one of my favourite movies and an amazing masterpiece.

thank you!

Its pretty much a direct copy of the concept of Koyaanisqatsi chapter "The Grid". Its a great source and a funny idea, but pretty blatant "referencing".
