Another railtour to the south west for the GWR175, this time it took the form of The Cornishman which was organised by Vintage Trains. The tour had originally come from Birmingham Snow Hill and this was done so by a class 47 bringing the tour into Bristol for the steam engines to take over. Two steam locomotives were to take the train from Bristol to Plymouth, the two locomotives were, Hall class 4965 Rood Aston Hall and Castle Class 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe'.

We start of at the fantastic location of the Dawlish sea wall from a distance the two engines are spotted on there outward journey running beautifully along the sea wall to Plymouth. For the return we start at Newton Abbot were both engines speed pass towards Exeter. Finally after passing them we see them again arriving at Taunton, here we see them arrive and some features from both engines before they both depart for Bristol Temple Meads. Thanks to theonlyadsrulz

During the layover of the tour we did go to the PDSR which has now been renamed The Dartmouth Steam Railway and I did manage to film the odd bit there weather I will decide to upload this I do not know yet so stay tuned.

Enjoy!

I managed to see the tour at Norton Fitzwarren on its return journey, havn't got round to uploading it yet tho.

How do you get to that location at dawlish from the station?

    5*

  • @jfuller4200 you walk out of dawlish station, turn left and follow the railway to the tunnel, you should come to a pathway that climbs the cliff, walk up this till theres a level area and your then at the location, perfect place for filming steam long the sea, thanks for the comment
