@smh6669.... Likely no euro Lincoln used... just flipped the negative when printing for whatever reason. All the action is moving right to left... probably filmed left to right then flipped that footage when "printed". That is my guess... this was lowish budget, they didn't even wreak the cars so no need to have 2 (that looks like a Lincoln body double that was already damages for the crash). Cheers.... just my observations. This film has haunted me for years.
Cool old Ray Milland flick. In the escape scene, Ray makes it all the way from Las Vegas into California. Not bad for an Xray blind guy in a stolen 1963 Lincoln Continental. If you look closely, after Ray passes the red GMC pickup, and does A Quick Uturn at the R/R gate, the driver in the Continental is on the right side of the car. What's up with that ? Why the seat change in a European Lincoln ?
Ray Milland besides his pleasant manner, also had a disturbing presence that haunts the viewer, even half a century after seeing such films as Dial M for Murder, The Lost Weekend, The Thief and X. Despite often being obliged to use rather poor SFX as seen here, Roger Corman regularly achieved wonders on the cheap. However, for the lack of a little ketchup and the failure to eliminate a corneal reflection at the end, I am still not sure whether X really did what the preacher told him to or not.
lol Dude, when I was a kid i saw this and I thought they were saying "look it out" at the end, so he looked so hard that his eyes exploded lol makes more sense that he plucked them out tho haha
Not a bad movie, very chilling ending.
