@jokersbitch if you're climbing with your ankles, bruising is totally normal. If you practice for a while the bruising will go away, although you might still get it occasionally. However, make sure you're also using your shins and calves - when you climb, the pole should run from the inner part of your knee down to the outside of the foot for the leg that's behind the pole, and from the achilles tendon of the front foot up to the inside of that knee. good luck!
