  • The distorted part is actually James playing on a 5-string bass. You can see where he recorded this part in "A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica."

  • 5 string bass...

  • Damn listen at :53 with headphones on. You can here the studio nose in the background and the track Jason is playing to. The distorted part is actually James playing on a baritone Danelectro.Watch a "Year and a Half in the Life" and you see James play it with a seafoam green baritone.

  • non-existent dislikes. the best kind

  • i play a 5 string lol :)

  • @Stormtrooper53 6-string bass, actually. Not the standard type of 6-string bass, either, these particular 6-string basses are set up like guitars with a 30" scale length, and are tuned an octave below standard (in this case, an octave below standard D tuning).

  • @unfairrocks you can't made them, this is the track from guitar hero (but still the original basstrack)

  • @zeikgps 4

  • Love Jason, awesome Bassist prob NOT his fault, but this tone just doesn't cut through.

  • Do you have The Unforgiven III?

  • BALLS

  • how do you make this tracks? i dont think he uses distortion only in the open chord...
