I'm surprised that the operator's tone toward the suspect didn't prompt him to become more violent, especially in the way that the operator repeatedly identified the caller ("Why did she...?" "Why is she...?") as the reason for her growing insistence that something must be wrong. A victim should never be placed in that position.

In training, we were told to keep the person calm so the victim doesn't get hurt.

If your a burgler and a dispatcher calls back after someone else calls 911, you don't pick up the phone! Thats stupid!
