carver aint really get good til 03 and even then the was trash carver was on the same level as reed,abe and fortier,they couldnt hang wit the big boys like 35,kennedy and st aug,but 35 was the best band in new orleans from 99-2002

35 was good no lie in that time frame but they were not the best band in new orleans and carver was actually good before 03 they had been good since the late 90's they started going down right before katrina

maybe i didnt know about carver because we never played them and they was always atthe back of the parades rite b4 easton but i think carver got noticed 02-03 because a kennedy assistant went there

carver should actually be in the top 3 lol but in my opinion the only i thought that 35 had that was the best was their drum section. 35 actually sounded better when 04 and 05 were seniors

@mute4rmdaboot Your Right but one thing you forgot to mention Not only their drum section but them 30 trombones & !2 Tubas did damage! I went to Fortier(97-99) but graduated at walker(99-01) and i know the real top five!

@killaboscoville Actually, Rawlins went to High School at Kennedy, when he started directing he assisted at Kennedy but wasn't on staff. He assisted at Reed 1997-98, when 98-99 came he was at Carver, Their Hype came because they made themselves Known for being Flashy... Kennedy. 35 and St, Aug were well established bands that started to Grow Old on people, thats why Reed & Carver took the spotlight at some point..

35 wasnt that good from 02 till katriina my opinion but good enough. Top 5 schools no particular order st aug, carver walker, reed , 35. From 02-katrina year

35 the best, really?? 35 was so garbage, the only thing they had was a fire drum section!! Kennedy had the best band handsdown! Sound, volume, and style wise they ran shit from the late 80's until 2002. I been to countless Kennedy and 35 matchups and you betta kno 35 left with they head bust errtime, no competition!!! Do yourself a favor and never type 35 was the best ever again, Its one thing to lie to people but to lie to yourself is crazy!!!!
