@whothq18 they get only about 3ft in the wild and rarely get up to 20'' in captivity! you must be mistaken with their relative alligator gar which can get up to 10 ft!

@moormandrm I'd say so. Fish generally don't mess with bichirs, unless they can easily eat them. However, I would still be cautious, and check the fish to make sure they get along.

I'd be interested to know what the tank temp, etc are for these fish. how adaptable are they? People say only up to 20 degrees c but I've seen them in with shovelnose cats, datnoides etc that like it warmer than that.

I need to do some research on these fish: I haven't encountered them very often :)
I would think that they should be kept in colder tanks, considering they are gar. I bet you could get away with keeping them at warmer temps, but i'd be careful.
