TWO PIECES: Incandescence(performance 1) and Who's Who(performance 2).

Who's Who

Description: This piece, called "Who's who?" combines the exotic and acrobatic tricks of hoop dance fused with animated and flowing lines of modern dance. "Who's who?" aims to transform the field of hoop dance through utilizing the contrasting elements of angular vs. curvilinear, gentle vs. strong, slow vs. fast, consonance vs. dissonance, and order vs. chaos to give the ring it's own personality and character. Who is in control? Who is more alive, the dancer or the ring?

Through dynamic choreography that pushes the limits of what hoop dance is today, I establish an intimate and sometime comical relationship with the hoop, focusing on the magic of illusion and the interaction between the hoop and my body.

Incandescence

Description: "Incandescence" utilizes the breath taking formations of Native American hoop dance, with quadruple hoops both on and off the body. One-leg balancing, slick acrobatic movement transitions and other tight, technical skills make this hula-hoop act a guaranteed crowed pleaser.
