Late 1980's....I was a punk but still dug this song and most 80's alternative and New Wave. After all, not giving a damn what friends say is kind of a punk rock move I guess. Great vibe and feeling when I hear this.

Was sat in a bar in Amsterdam yesterday watching in disbelief at the shit band Queen and their video to 'We will Rock You'. Just as I turned away from the screen to look at anything else my ears pricked up!! This video came on to save me from my despair!! Forgot all about this song!!! Fantastic!!

@jvdmn98 My take on it is that it's about a couple who have agreed to keep their relationship a secret from their nosy friends/acquaintances, because the guy wants to keep up his bad reputation/'treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' persona (when he's actually quite gentle/caring beneath it) - "I'm not what they believe and if they find out they will leave"/"if we come and go alone, why do they need to know".
