Today I experimented trying to make tomato berbere, kibbeh and doro wat. Before you post any odd comments, please note that the only resource I have for this is from the internet. If I am making it improperly please tell me exactly what you use and I will try it that way. Thanks for watching {:o)

Sorry I'm talking low again, I'll try to speak up better in the next videos

  • if you make a recipe "incorrectly" and it tastes good then you have just created a new recipe. I accidentally put nutmeg in something which was suposed to have a completely different spice, it was an african curry and now I make it "wrong" cause its so good! :)

  • @RashtraVishnu That sounds good to me {:o) I like your thinking! I don't know whether or not I made this correctly or not, but I do love it!

  • @blcherki I never claimed to be from Ethiopia, and already mentioned I googled a recipe and it was my first time trying to make it. I think it was a "nice try" too, but not in a derogatory fashion.

  • Well, I'm not using this account anymore to make cooking vids (got complaints from anime lovers), so I'm gonna use my other youtube account (DizzyMalfoy) for all my cooking vids. I actually have a good bunch I'm gonna make. From japanese to hispanic (I'm Puerto Rican) and anything else I can find online. And seriously, that kibbeh looked like pure honey, very pretty indeed.

  • Thanks Dizzy {:o) I thought the kibbeh turned out so pretty. Kinda reminded me of amber jewelry w/o the cracks or bugs in it, lol! ooo, are you going to do a video? I'm not done with asia yet :) My plan was to learn more by continent starting with asia and I got sidetracked

  • I'm actually purely amazed. I've never heard of any of these things but it sounds hella yummy tho. Reminds me that I have to make japanese curry this weekend. Not from scratch tho, I don't know how to make the curry seasoning.

  • That's the seasoned clarified butter/ghee/kibbeh. It picked up all the flavors from the seasonings. It and the berbere are used to season the stew/wat. I made those so next time I make wat instead of putting all the seasonings and tomato paste into the stew/wat then all i have to do is dump that into the meat and voila. The stew is fatless since it was chicken breast and vegetables. So the kibbeh is added in for more flavor and richness to the stew. I could be wrong though. Im new at it.

  • What is that clear amber golden colored thingy used for? and the tomato berbere too.

  • Hi dizzy, It's east african foods. These 3 are used a lot in Ethiopia. Other countries have different versions. I found them on youtube and googled how to make it
