  • I have trained several of these round pen reasoning works well if they are difficult they really make fantastic little horses very very smart learn fast!

  • @BarrelsPolesandJack *some high dollar gorgeous paint horse? Looks aren't everything.

  • @BarrelsPolesandJack It all depends..I don't know where you heard that from though. Every horse is different, and I think it's the consistency of work and time you put into them. If you're consistently working with a horse and then all of a sudden not work with it as much, then it's probably not going to stay in "work-mode." He does a very good job with this horse, and he knows what he's doing.

As for the comment, "*lol* she's not much to look at, is she?" what were you expecting? Some high do

  • BarrelsPolesandJack - That is 100% BS! I have been riding my Mustang since 2002, as has my husband with his, and they are the best horses ever, and just keep getting better.

  • *lol* She's not much to look at, is she? How is she riding now? I heard that Mustangs have a tendency to be good horses for awhile, and they just become untameable all over again. I don't believe that's true, but I was just wondering how she's progressing right now.

  • This is really helpful. You model how to stay calm and move slowly, move through the problems that arise.

  • Great!

  • Hi i adopted a 6yr old mare form the BLM about a week ago. And shes very aggressive and come at me with her ears pinned and plans of biteing me lol. what can i do to gain her trust and show her im not going to hurt her becuase she is very mean and scared

  • That horse has definitely been handled before, she is groomed and clean. When you go to adopt a mustang they typically are filthy. And they usually cannot be touch.. MUCH LESS just walking up to them and touch them like that. I would like to see someone start with one that hasn't had ANY contact.. that shows true horsemanship.

  • If you show love and trust... loyalty is the usual idea for Horses and Dogs. I can only imagine how hard it is to train them... but I see how determination plays an important role. I miss riding a horse so much... I used to do it without a saddle so the weight wouldn't bother them.
