In high school I took a series of French classes. The first couple years, the teachers speak a combination of French and English, the first year being more English than French, the second year being maybe half and half. The next couple years the teachers speak in French only. If someone skipped the first two years, they could not survive in a class where the teacher spoke French only.  But if they know some French, and the teacher speaks slowly and simply, they will learn more this way.

Following that metaphor, this clip is a lesson on tabla in the language of tabla. If you saw the difference between these clips and his performances, you would see that he is 'speaking' very simply and slowly for us in this lesson. It's not a French lesson in English, it's a French lesson in French.

PS I don't remember very much French! I guess language and tabla are also like muscles, if you don't use it you lose it.

@shrooman777 Indeed, but to the layyoutuber, a lesson is what a lesson is in the generic sense. In that, perhaps the title should've been a little more specific. Not to say I didn't enjoy the video, though.
