In this video, a baby great horned owl receives food at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) in Quechee, VT. The orphaned owl is fed 3-4 times a day, and is watched over by a "foster mom" owl. The foster mom is an adult female great horned owl who is normally on exhibit at our nature center. To read more about the owl and the other birds in care at VINS, go to www.vtnature.blogspot.com or www.vinsweb.org.
The owl here is eating mice, which would be part of his natural diet in the wild.
