ok man.. thats a good start.. question the guy who told you to question everything.. I respect that so I'll give you some hints:
1. look up "starvation" on wikipedia to know what we are actually talking about
2. I'd tell you to read "wealth of nations" by adam smith. you're provably not going so instead read "the creature from jekyl island" or watch "the money masters"
3. find who benefits from wars (cheap labour workers, guns makers,?)
4. find out africas main economic activities and income
