@HastenedHero It really doesn't matter that much. The different fish are all from differing habitats anyway. For large predators like these, a natural looking tank has little benefit other than aesthetics, and in a pond aesthetics don't matter so much.
Oh. I was thinking they were same family because of the similar body shape and the fact that they are both predators. One thing I do know for sure is that they are both really cool lookin fish :-D

Cool. Correct me if I'm wrong but, aren't gar and pike in the same family of fish? (Thus making it easy for me to mistake the two lol) :-)

depends what kind of gar you have. florida gars and spotted gars have more pointed noses, and cubans and alligators have more a rounded nose.

i know but i recently seen one with a less pointy nose and pike are less spotted
