This is actually Pyotr Gusev's "le Corsaire" ... Just a little nit-picking, dear friend!! If Petipa saw this production he would plotz!

Well it is described by the Mariinsky Ballet as Gusev, based on Petipa's choreography. so Petipa does have to be mentioned.

Tereshkina is a great Medora in this scene as well as all of the others. I had hoped that she might burst out of wings in a great leap as Altynai did in the Kirov DVD - a thrilling moment.

Oh yes, she has perfect ballet body, as well as Vishneva.

But, of course, I also like other ballerinas with different body types, like tall and strong Kondaurova or tall and delicate Lopatkina, or, of course, small Obraztsova.

But Osmolkina... Just perfect.

She is short, but one of their top ballerinas thinks that Osmolkina has the best ballet body in the company. Legs are obviously very important for a ballerina.
