  • Can someone explain why some of the trucks pictured have some sort of covering over the radiator?

  • Its called a winter front. They use to put the cover in front of the radiator to block some of the cold air. By restricting the cold air your engine would run hotter. and by increasing the temperature of the engine, you would then be able to get more heat out of the heater. the snap on covers where the fancy type. My dad use to put cardboard in the front. but you always had to keep a close eye on the temperature gauge so you wouldn't over heat

  • Karl.

Did you send me pictures or do I have some of yours? if you did send them to me, let me know. otherwise, if you have any from the 70's and beyond send them to me and I will include them in one of my next ones....

  • keeps bugs out of your radiator. easier to clean it off the cover than out of a radiator. It gets in the radiator, it's gonna mess things up and your truck will start to eventually over heat

  • 0:03 that's the TERMINATOR truck!

  • Great song!! From one trucker to another!! And we still cover the radiator in winter, if you want decent heat inside...And us poor boys have to slid cardboard in there!! lol...And my handle has been Crazy for over 20 years...42?
