What do you make of that? Comment about it. Debate each other. As always, be POLITE!

  • I am a devout Christian, and a firm believer in the Bible. However, I would never resort to killing for my own gain even if I didn't believe the Bible. I think the man debating with you was exaggerating or lying in saying he would. I do follow laws taught in the Bible and not required by our nation (for example, I am abstinent). Aside from Biblical law, we must also follow the laws of our country (as was stated previously in another comment) because I for one, would rather not waste my life in

  • Oh, and aye. Can remember talking to one of the Mormons I used to know back when I was a closet Atheist. He went yapping on about why atheists should just kill themselves if they don't believe in god or whatnot. Silly muggle.

Here's another case for you to use though, if a believer and yourself get into a debate, ask them if they got cancer, if they would just let it take its course. If they say yes, them beh crazy. If they say no, they beh unfaithful. Win, win for the Atheists.

  • Didn't think the question through, there's still police, courts and all that good stuff. You might get the 'land', but you're going to jail for some serious shower action. Another fine example of believer ignorance.

  • Dude, I have this image in my mind of one of your roommates listening to you saying "What would be wrong with me killing him to get it" ... in that quiet voice ... late at night.

  • God has given us all consciences so i think most people believe it to be wrong to kill others even if they have not read The Bible.

  • I think he's full of it. He still has state, federal and local laws to follow. He thinks he's following biblical law but he's really following mans law. Ask him why he hasn't stoned people working on the sabbath. He'd be on solid ground to do so based on the bible. Hell, ask him if he's committed the sin of Onan.

  • I highly doubt he would kill someone if it weren't for The Bible. He's probably so devoted to his religion he doesn't see how he could possibly be the person he is without "God".

  • I think most people will resort to anything to defend their argument without realizing that's what they're doing.

  • To some extent I agree, but I feel that teaching is more important than lying.

  • @notNECESSARILYgod:

It's that type of mentality that has always made me nervous. I've always wonderd a couple of things related. 1) How many religious people (Christian, Jew, etc.) would kill if their religion said not to, but there was no legal punishment? and 2) The selfishness of religion: i.e. I am good because I want to be rewarded when I die.
