I'm having a trouble dragging the "shape" I create into the original background layer. And I know my problem is that it keeps coming up as a "shape" and not a bezier after I create the shape, however I am using the bezier tool at the top not the shape tool. Why does this happen? Any suggestions? Thanks.

oh that' s so awesome thanx !
Hi, are you running Motion 3.0 by chance? If so, that's why it's not working. You can still accomplish this same effect, but it involves in making a separate mask.

I cannot drag the mask in to the original background 2:30, it would just put it below or under the layer. Also it does not say the bezier layer it says shape, but i did exactly the same thing you did. what am i doing wrong?
thanks

Yes, you can only drag bezier layers into a track to automatically create a mask. Are you using the bezier tool to create the mask?
