Pauly Cohen, 89, a veteran lead trumpeter who played with Earl Hines, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and Clark Terry, remembers hearing Billie Holiday on 52nd Street. Today, Pauly leads his own big band in South Florida.
Absolutely priceless, Bret. More of this stuff.......please. For those of us who wish to get as much insight as possible from people like Pauly Cohen, Sonny Rollins, Michael Brecker........etc... This stuff is solid gold.
Marvelous...thank you, Bret.
