  • As for Daniels, he does a lovely job on this. What a rich quality he has to his voice!

  • You know, I spoke to someone last night who works with Robert Eisenstein of the Folger Consort. He's worked with some of the best early musicians in the world and has for years...and you know what? He's worked with Jaroussky and raves about his professionalism and his voice.

So either he (and the rest of the classical musical community) are incapable of judging the quality of a singer, or Serenluce has yet again proved that she is a troll who thinks that her amateur opinion trumps theirs.

  • @pepix54 What is bad in calling a spade a spade? And is it not a bad thing to sing in falsetto in an absolutely FLAT voice without any depth of interpretation, making just impressions of baroque and serious art and present it as true? Calling himself a countertenor without proper technique unlike the same Daniels who isn't even one of my favourites but whom I respect as a true artist isn't a bad thing for PJ and his promoters who just infiltrated him in CT world to make more money?! Shame!

  • @serenaluce I understand that you have some kind of problem with PJ, but don't know what. You can put his technique under question, but to call him "pop falsetist"... if true, should it be a bad thing?

  • thanks Daniel, hope to hear you live one day in the near future :)

  • It’s clearly not very authentic and what is with the speeding up in parts!! Why are they in such a hurry to finish.... this one has lost the emotions of pain and desperation in the aria... Every performer has the right do their own interpretation the composer’s works, but also has to think of the audience... What’s next, electric keyboard to replace the orchestra with backing singers...

  • ABsolutely heavenly - sorry :)

  • Ansolutely heavenly.

  • @St00sh13 There are still people in this world who have ears and can tell true stuff from fake not being brainwashed by promotion and sweet empty trills by such pop singers like Philippe Jaroussky!:-) Have a nice day!

  • @serenaluce At last, somebody else talking about the emotional content of the music and not worrying whether there were 3 or 4 trills in a particular ornamentation! This is a beautiful interpretation and, along with Rolando Villazon's interpretation, for me, stand out as possibly two of the best performances of any Handel aria.
