I bought both an LED and CCFL backlit LCD and up close the CCFL has much better color, but my LED display is much thinner... Should you go for performance or panel thickness???

they have both same panel - LG H-IPS! The diffference can be only in brightness settings.... and huge difference in price! Dell is much cheaper...

@N4CR5 also gotta get a good gpu to run anything high res or you're doing the 'ferrari on emergency tyre' approach.

@Misyu44 I have u27 and have had some good time photo editing and testing out a the equivalent mac panel, you see everything behind you in the reflection.
I Agree, a good tn or even high end crt is best for heavy gaming, but as a compromise between general usage an occasional gaming, i'll take the ips every time. I just can't go back to tn colour now :( Games are more surreal on ips.
Bigger screen, depends on distance, end of the day its res + dot pitch + colour + distance that does it for me.

it really is..
It's the only IPS Monitor with H-IPS (the best of all IPS).. only 6ms, and 70,000:1 contrast ratio..
Who cares about the LED backlight?
