Charles Burnett was my Director of Photography and Cameraman on " '69 PICKUP 1969." This was my Project I film at the UCLA film school in the summer of 1969. He is an outstanding filmmaker! I learned a great deal from him. I was his Production Manager, Film Editor, and I played a Cameo Role as "Dead Body in a Coffin" on "My Brother's Wedding." I was instrumental in getting that film off the ground. I joined the film department because I was a writer and decided that film was it.

Fascinating director...Killer of Sheep deserves a lot more recognition, I think.

You know what Andre, I don't think those comments were directed towards you. I believe they were meant for the flagged comments from SharedHallucinations. You seem to praise Mr. Burnett- who is indeed a close personal friend. If it helps to avoid any further confusion, I indeed apologize. Mr. Burnett is a much better director, and more important voice to black cinema (and cinema in general), then Spike Lee will ever be. Look me up on FB, or friend me here. No harm

@ebhughes I recently read you comment on my page regarding my piece on Charles Burnett. I thought it was cruel and unkind. I don't mind that you don't like the work but as a fellow artist and filmmaker, it'd be so much more helpful to me and my growth if you made constructive comment about my works sore points.

Merely to stating that " I sounds like an idiot," is a bit seneseless and doesn't employ the proper tense of the word sound, that makes you look snarky and foolish.

Obviously,judging by your work and your respect for Mr. Burnett you are no fool.  So be kind man,rewind the spot and tell me how you think i can improve.

I agree. I think his work is both inventive and pivotal and most of all honest.

He deserves way more exposure and accolades. I am working on continuing the series this year. So stay tuned. Thanks for your support and thumbs  up.
