  • Thats a cool setup...

Is that dyno the same age as the 383 block? lol

  • Good question I really don't know. My guess the dyno is a couple years newer.

  • timing need to be at 14 bitch

  • BITCH if you had a dyno you would know what the timing was for this engine. I hate stupid people!!!

  • There is truly no sound quite like the MoPar 383. I had one in my '65 Coronet 500. The 383 "B" engines rev freely like a small-block and put out torque like a big-block. It was one engine Chrysler should have definitely continued producing for RWD vehicles..

  • One thing I will say, and dont take it wrong. Thats kinda a dangerous setup Id really hate it if an engine let go while you guys are standing right there.

  • 383 is probably the most under rated and over looked engine from Mopar. I love the 383 and every other Mopar engine made. We just installed one in a 70 Duster and let me just say......it nearly twisted the body in half, time for sub frame connectors. Its funny when you mention a 383 now a days GM turds think its a small block

  • damn yo thats a dyno lol

  • I think carb tuning is the issue.

  • Nice ol' B engine!

I would toss that POS Holley 4160 carb however. if your gonna use a Holley, definitely go with a 650 cfm 4150 double pumper. those vacuum operated secondaries are trouble.

  • Water hose looks kinked closed.

  • Something is clearly not right here. It looks like they only managed to make about the same power as a bone stock 1968-70 383 HP engine.

With those modifications anyone should have been able to max out the iron heads flow at over 450 horses. Aside from timing/points issues, the fact that several of the header primaries looked caved in probably didn't help the numbers either.

  • How con a carb be gay?

  • Don't let them get to you Mopar engines are the best !! I am allmost 60 and have been racing them for years. I now have a 1968 cuda coupe that I will have a fresh 383 in by race time,a 440 is on the drawing board. And yes total timing is what counts on yours 38 total should do fine.Keep on racing!

  • @tommyau2006 no there havin fun quit hatin
