Name's Andrew.
I played Bass Trombone in the 87 and 88 bands, so I went on the China tour, and not the Montreux trip.
If you were in the band in '88, I'm sorry, but I don't remember you.

I'm a PCJB alum ('87&'88) and this brings back some great memories.

If you haven't seen them yet, there is some very cool stuff from the early/mid 80's Marching Band and PCJB posted by a user named Barneyphone, just search Pennsbury Marching Band.
And if you have any vintage video contact me and maybe we can get them up.

I'm confused...
Did Mazz conduct PCJB all of last year? Cause I'm seeing vids of them being conducted by Mr. Reese for some comptetitions.

Mazz did most rehearsals and some songs at Jazz At Pennsbury, Mr. Rees took them out on the road.

This was fantastic! Was it the Stan Kenton arrangement?

Yes it is, straight from the book that Mr. Kenton gave to the Pennsbury Jazz Band back in the 70's when he would do clinics at the school. I recently came across an mp3 of the Kenton band doing Body and Soul and it did sound almost identical.
