...are respected figures in the Malayalam/tamil film fraternity. This itself is a huge talent pool in the Indian film industry. Just look at the leading south based singers and technicians who make their name big in bollywood. The point is if you have talent and the right attitude, with that bit of luck, you can go anywhere.

But Gautami, name few Indian idols who made it big in the last few years? The only name i can think of is Sunidhi (Mere awaz suno) and Shreya Goshal(Sa Re Ga Ma). Hypes like Abhijeet sawant etc have faded off. Up north the scene has gone to just a theater event where fights between judges and parents and contestants make bigger news than the actual event. Not to mention the reality aspect of it.

Amrita is a well respected channel in Kerala. The music directors and directors who are judges...
