The British Armed Forces

Well I'm British born and bread and I think we have one of the best armed forces in the world. I have friends serving in Afghanistan I have family that fought in WW1, WW2.

This video isn't just to show you Britain's armed forces, but also to commemorate them and honour them. But I think the best thing about our armed forces is the history, from all that history we have become a very wise force that has fought in all terrains and have created and adapted techniques for the better. We also have the BEST special services in the form of SAS and SBS.

@busbybrit58 you're an embarrassment, you should have spent longer in school and less time daydreaming. I'm British, living in Cambridgeshire so there's no need to get defensive. How can you possibly argue we have the best military in the world? We use antiquated, outdated systems and our training is on par with most of the western worlds military training. I think maybe you've seen your brother come back from Afghanistan and got a tear in your eye with pride. Sort it out.

@toolhead22 we actually use the most modern systems in the world, we are at the the forefront of military technology and spend more on defence than most countries in the world. our training is the longest and most intense of any in the world. fact. go to afghan and get shot, i wouldn't take a bullet for you, you prick.

The Marine Corps believe they are the best at what they do. They do not compare themselves with the much more advanced units that are called Special Operation Forces (any normal soldier who does this, shouldn't call themselves a soldier). SAS is Special Ops, do not compare them to regular infantry

As for what you said about Pointe Du Hoc, I suggest you read it again. Only 225+ Rangers were sent in. They also did not use the Air force during the raid, they used Ship bombardment.

The U.S. Marine Corps thinks they are the best, but it is a generally accepted fact that the SAS is the premier fighting force in the world. The Americans never even came close to conducting any operation as dangerous as the raid on St. Nazaire in France by the Brits to destroy the only Atlantic axis port capable of harbouring the Bismarck. The U.S. Rangers stormed a largely undefended Pointe du Hoc on D-Day and then were bombed by their own air force and lost 2,200 including a colonel.

Britain certainly has one of the best armed forces in the world, with a long tradition of military excellence. The British pioneered the original commando force and captured Enigma twice even before the Americans did (Hollywood and the Americans like to think they were first). The Harrier is a bad ass ingenious fighting craft. The Americans think they are the best because they have had the best and most highly equipped army since WW2. Pound for pound, I will put my money on the Brits any day.
