Video of PPC-6700 PRL upgrade. I was trying to reach customer service and it would force me to upgrade, then they said I could continue my call but in reality, it would make the call end when complete and force my phone to reset. Occurred 6 times, this video shows one time updating and the next time it let me through, but you can see that it really didn't do a prl update the second time. I had to call back again after this video and it wanted me to update again. I had to use 1-800-SPRINT1 to get through.

  • How's this updated "forced"?

  • Its only forced by using *2. I couldn't contact sprint unless using the toll free number.

  • I ran my Sprint phone over with a truck. Solved all the problems I've had with the damned thing.

  • if it was forced, that could be dangerous.. imagine if you were trying to call 911

  • The flag can be removed from sprints p2k account managemnt software stopping the upgrade. It looks like you only have 1 bar of signal which will fail the update. the unfortuanate part is sprints network will not tell you that. The other reasons can be a firmware probem in the device or Sprint is having PRL "Preferred Roaming List" update problems in your area. You device reboots based on manufacture design after update. some devices will reboot after update or update attempt some won't.

  • So? Modify the PRL if you want to change it back?

  • Thats the PRL update that keeps failing. Bypass it by placing a call to 611 instead of *2.
