My 84 supra needs a little help, being my first one ever got it for $800 and i have no clue where to start on it. I need parts but cant find them as no auto wrecks around here seem to have them, and ebay you cant find basically no original parts at all so if anyone knows any good parts sites let me know please!

  • Turns out its the alternator its not charging the battery and showing that is output is 18 volts on the dash so that right there says its not just the alternator bearings.

  • Tighten the belt that pulls the alternator more. Mine used to squeal when the headlights went up and it was that belt. I assume it's because of the load on the alt.

  • @suprafanatic1984 ya it would be from the alternator going under load. Anyways i checked the belt when i got it tightened it a little but the squealing still commenced so i even took it to the mechanic in town and he said it was almost to tight. so its either the alternator or the engine. Will have to start her up tomorrow for a bit and see if the alternator gets hot.
