Britain's Mark Cavendish suffered a heavy fall during a sprint finish on the third stage of the Giro d'Italia.
The Team Sky rider was brought down by Roberto Ferrari towards the end of the 190km race around Horsens, Denmark.
He said on Twitter: "Ouch! Crashing at 75kph isn't nice! Nor is Ferrari's manoeuvre. Should be ashamed to take out Pink, Red & World Champ jerseys."

Ferrari was reckless! Exclude him from the tour if he can't ride more safely than that. Cav a real hard man to be back on his feet so fast after a crash at that speed

Well Cav has already got all those victories under his belt. The future? Seen lots of guys who promised much but couldn't deliver due to injury/bad luck/ missed opportunity/ being found wanting when things got tough.

Cavendish gets a lead-out train from Team Sky because he can win sprints, not the other way around; looking at the 1012 Tour de France, most of his wins were the result of finding the right wheel, and making a well timed move. More power to him!

completely wrong what ferrari did. he had speace enough at the other site and has to hold his line. should have bin disqualified and out of tour. !!!!! wanted to hurt GAV??
