Recorded in May of 2006 this is a work from my senior recital at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Here I am playing the opening work on the second half of my recital. The Prelude, Cadence, et Finale by Alfred Desenclos is one of the harder works of the classical saxophone repertoire. It has challenging technique, articulations, and is very tricky to put together with piano as the rhythms can be quite complex. Please comment and or subscribe if you like the video! I will be posting more of my work in the future. Thank you again for the support!

  • what is your multhpiece?

  • vandoren AL3

  • Bravo! I'll be performing this piece on my senior recital at West Texas A&M University this coming Sunday. It's always wonderful to hear such great student recordings such as this - keep up the good work!

  • I hope you have a great performance! Thank you! I think this work really was the first thing that made me step up to the plate and test my artistry at a high level. It has been 4 years (nearly) since I played this so I think a lot has probably changed but I think I have kept the same musical phrase and direction. Its just a lot more comfortable and much less mistakes :) I'm not sure if i'm a pro yet, however (hehe)

  • I thoroughly enjoyed working on this piece! Its gorgeous as well as challenging. I'm thinking of using it for my graduate school auditions.

  • thank you. I play with vandoren a 27and a28, I like this but I would like experimenting whith vandoren AL 4. You have played whith vandaron a 28?

  • i had been playing on my AL3 for about one year at this time. i still use the same mouthpiece even though I have experimented some with the Selmer C* here and there. I'm still much happier with the vandoren AL3 overall, however and don't anticipate switching anytime soon.

  • what is your mouthpiece?

  • You are not helping and you are not welcome to comment here anymore, as your opinion means nothing.

  • thanks, this is the best recording on youtube, and im starting on it
