  • Just returned yesterday (Sat 11th Aug 2007) from another what has become our annual pilgrimage to Arran. I sighed to return as I viewed this evocativelly soundtracked clip. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the comment, for me it's Tomita's version of Reverie that makes it come together.

  • The more I watch it the more I like it, music is good and uve got the right mix btween background soound.

    It inspires me.

  • Thanks for the comments and I'm glad you enjoy the clip. The youtube version is a big drop in quality from the original Hi8 recording, I probably still have the Hi8 recording in a box somewhere.

  • Caley Isles is really a substantial ship. Although the MV Isle of Arran was built for the Brodick route , Calmac were never happy with her on that service , she always seemed to have berthing issues. Take a run on the MV Saturn from Ardrossan , as this could well be her last year (2011) , she has already gone from the Gourock-Dunoon route , with Calmac's vehicle-carrying service suspended in favour of Western Ferries flat-bottomed boats.

  • A video of great interest. This was not long after the ferry entered service, so she was brand new. Also very interesting to note that members of public were able to walk around at Ardrossan Harbour and get close up to the ferry as it berthed - the area is now fenced off and the public are not allowed anywhere near the pier edge, all in name of Health & Safety! >:(

  • my grandad worked on tht boat for over 20 yrs..brings bk so many memories :)

  • my dad is away from home he is in arran right now he makes roads a luv him so much its nice to no hes laving his mark in arran a want him 2 cum home because the more time hes on their the more he hates arran which he shouldnt coz its a lovely plac a was a yr an 2 monthe wen this was made an a luv arran

  • Arran's been a home from home for the past 25 years - I remember the first time we boarded MV Caledonian Isles, it was like a cruise ship comared to the MV Isle of Arran!

  • I was 8 months old when you recorded this. I live in Ardrossan, I have always. Cool video
