Non-invasive Breath Glucometer for the Community

We want to translate our graduate research proving that glucose levels can be measured in condensed breath, into a revolutionary product for people to easily manage their blood glucose in a noninvasive way.

Our design utilizes a two-component system for ease of use and community-managed care. The person first uses a handheld component which quickly condenses and collects vapor from deep-lung breath in an ejectable cartridge. The person simply inserts the cartridge at their convenience into the table-top component which then reads the glucose levels and displays the glucose level to the person.

Our belief is that by providing the ability for people to monitor their blood glucose levels without the need of pricking themselves and drawing blood, diabetics will find an easier path to stay on top of their diabetes management. This in turn will lead to significant life-long prevention of chronic diseases that commonly are associated with diabetes.
